Traditional Christmas Tablescape

Your feeds are likely filled with all kinds of Christmas inspiration for your home — from this year’s must-have decor to the ornament sets you “need” to buy, to the newest and trendiest ideas for making your home feel cozy during the holidays. I love looking at these and think they’re all lovely, but there’s something about traditional Christmas decor,  pulling in your grandmother’s silver and using the crystal you registered for as a bride. I love using these pieces every year and thinking of all the memories made with them. So today I’m sharing my traditional Christmas tablescape with you in hopes that it inspires you to use what you have, maybe add in a few accent pieecs, and make it beautiful along the way!

One of my favorite things about this table is that it mixes my heirloom pieces that I’ve had for years with the most special (and lovely!) pieces from some of my favorite small businesses. I’m a big believer in using things that bring you joy and then filling in with things like candles and flowers to make things feel special. And this time of year is perfect for adding in a few pinecones — you can find bags at almost any local grocery store and Trader Joe’s right now!

I started creating my table by laying this beautiful tablecloth from a new-to-me small business, Chefanie. This female-founded home entertaining brand has the most unique and lovely napkins, tablecloths, and accent pieces for every occasion year-round, and I just swooned over their holiday items! These gingerbread house napkins are one of my go-to gifts for hostesses and friends this year, and are on our Hostess Gift Guide!

Would you believe it if I told you these plaid placemats are paper?! And under $30 for a set of 12? I love how they anchor each place setting! I used these gorgeous scalloped linen napkins from Fenwick Fields at each seat (the green-trimmed napkins are sold out, but the red-trimmed napkins are beautiful, too!) — and they double as placemats! Fenwick Fields is a personal favorite of mine for creating memorable tablescapes, and I love that they’re a local Dallas company.

Lastly, I’d be remiss to not mention the flower arrangement! I used this monogrammed champagne bucket that I’ve had for years to hold my flowers. This has been another popular item on our Women’s Gift Guide and I think it would make a perfect gift for mothers, mothers-in-law, or anyone on your list who loves to host.

Everything else I’ve had for years: the silver, chargers, candlesticks holders, and my wedding china (which I adore!).

I hope you find a bit of inspiration to create your own traditional tablescape this year! But most of all, remember that it’s not about creating the perfect or most beautiful table — it’s about the meals shared and memories made around it.
